The knockout stages of European football are here, and Ultimate Team is celebrating with the highly anticipated UEFA Road to the Final (RTTF) promo. Featuring dynamic live items, unique qualifying tournaments, and massive Showdown SBCs, this promo ties your Ultimate Team success directly to real-world UEFA fixtures.
Here is a complete breakdown of how the RTTF upgrades work, how to qualify for the exclusive Champions and Competitors Cups, and the massive rewards you can earn along the way.
Information in this guide is sourced directly from the official EA SPORTS FC 26 Pitch Notes.
How RTTF Upgrades Work
Unlike standard promo cards, Road to the Final items are "live," meaning they receive stat, Skill Move, Weak Foot, and PlayStyle upgrades based entirely on how far their real-world clubs progress in their respective UEFA tournaments.

Official FC 26 RTTF Upgrade Path
| Real-World Milestone | RTTF Item Upgrade |
|---|---|
Win or draw the first quarter-final match | +1 Base PlayStyle |
Win or draw the second quarter-final match | +1 Base PlayStyle |
Qualify for the semi-finals | All Roles++ AND +1 Skill Moves OR +1 Weak Foot |
Win or draw the first semi-final match | +1 OVR |
Win or draw the second semi-final match | +1 OVR |
Qualify for the final | +1 PlayStyle+ |
Win the final | 96 OVR AND 5-Star Skill Moves & Weak Foot |
Note on Extra Time: If a second-leg match goes to extra time, the win/draw condition for the Ultimate Team upgrade is determined strictly by the score after 90 minutes.
Note on UWCL: Because the first leg of the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finals has already taken place, eligible UWCL Player Items will receive their first extra base PlayStyle upgrade from day one.

RTTF Tournaments: The Path to Glory
This year, EA has completely revamped how you earn gameplay rewards by introducing a multi-tiered tournament structure. The path you take depends entirely on your performance in the initial qualifying league.
1. The RTTF Qualifying League
Everyone starts here. You are given a maximum of 14 entries to carve out your path.
- The Goal: You need to secure 7 wins to qualify for the elite Champions Cup.
- The Fallback: If you fail to get 7 wins, you will drop down into the Competitors Cup—but only if you complete at least 12 matches.
- Crucial Tip: Do not rage quit your matches! Match completion is required to hit that 12-game threshold. If you quit and run out of entries before hitting 12 completed games or 7 wins, you will miss out on both cups entirely.
How to Qualify for BOTH the Champions and Competitors Cups
Because you are given 14 total entries, it is theoretically possible to qualify for both cups and double-dip on the rewards, though it requires a highly calculated (and risky) approach.
To unlock both tournaments, you need to hit the 12-match completion requirement at the exact same time you secure your 7th win.
- The Setup: Win exactly 6 games, and intentionally complete and lose 5 games. You are now sitting at 11 completed matches and 6 wins.
- The Critical 12th Game: You must win your 12th completed match. This secures your 7th win while simultaneously crossing the 12-game completion threshold, granting you access to both cups.
- The Hidden Trap: If you let the 12th game finish as a loss, the "12 Matches Completed" objective triggers immediately. You will instantly qualify for the Competitors Cup and be completely locked out of the Champions Cup—even if you have entries 13 and 14 remaining.
- The Pro-Tip (Calculated Forfeits): If you are in that critical 12th match, have entries to spare, and realize you are going to lose, forfeit the game from the pause menu. Quitting burns an entry, but it does not count as a completed match. This prevents the 12-game objective from triggering, allowing you to try again for that crucial 7th win using your 13th or 14th entry.
- The Safety Net: Only complete the match and take the full loss if you are on your 14th and final entry. This ensures you at least hit the 12 completed matches requirement and secure your spot in the Competitors Cup as a fallback.
2. The RTTF Champions Cup
If you hit your 7 wins, you enter the premier Champions Cup. This is a brutal daily knockout competition spanning four rounds, offering the best rewards in the promo. Furthermore, you can re-enter after lifting the trophy to do it all again.
Champions Cup Rewards:
- Win Round of 16: 4x 85+ Players Pack
- Win Quarter-Final: Intercept+ Evo (Grants a 2nd PS+, Max 88 OVR limit)
- Win Semi-Final: 5x 87+ Players Pack
- Win the Final: RTTF Konrad Laimer
- Win the Cup Twice: Flex Player Celebration
- Group Reward (Complete All): 90+ RTTF Guaranteed Pack

3. The RTTF Competitors Cup
If you fall short of 7 wins but completed your 12 games, you are seeded into the Competitors Cup. While slightly less demanding, it still offers incredible fodder and a guaranteed promo player pick.
Competitors Cup Rewards:
- Score 3 goals: 82+ x10 Players Pack
- Score at least 1 goal in 8 separate matches: 83+ x7 Players Pack
- Score at least 1 goal in 15 separate matches: 1 of 4 85+ Rare Gold Players Pick
- Win Quarter-Final: 84+ x5 Players Pack
- Win Semi-Final: 1 of 5 85+ Rare Gold Players Pick
- Win the Final: 4x 85+ Rare Gold Players Pack
- Group Reward (Complete All): 1 of 3 RTTF Player Pick
Upcoming SBCs: Showdowns and Upgrades
Throughout the week, EA will be heavily focusing on elite European competition, specifically letting the UEFA Women’s Champions League take over the content drop.
You can expect:
- Blockbuster UWCL Showdown SBCs centered around the biggest upcoming clashes.
- Daily SBCs including Marquee Matchups marking both quarter-final second-leg matchdays.
- A special, high-value Midweek Upgrade SBC to help you pack the live RTTF items.
The Road to the Final promo completely changes how you watch European football. Every real-world goal directly impacts the Ultimate Team market, and with the new Champions Cup structure, the gameplay grind is more rewarding than ever. Ensure you finish your qualifying games carefully to secure your spot in the knockout brackets!
