Squad Building Challenges have been a mainstay in FIFA Ultimate Team since they were first introduced in 2017. However, with the Chemistry System going through a major revamp, SBCs in FIFA 23 have been modified to fall in line with the new System.
This is bad news for people unaware of the new changes, or are having difficulty acclimatising themselves to the new system, but it's made the Advanced SBCs (which are more difficult, puzzle SBCs for those new to the game) even trickier than normal. In this article, we want to help guide you through the process of completing each of the challenges inside each of the Advanced SBC Groups, including example solutions, so you won't have to spend countless hours on the Web App trying to find a way to complete them all.
Don't forget that EA has completely removed the Loyalty System this year, which means that you won't need to have packed, or played 10 games with, any of the Players you want to use in any of the SBCs, even those bought from the Transfer Market.
Note that some SBCs have been bugged at launch, this article is a guide on how to complete those SBCs assuming those bugs and requirement errors have been fixed.
Hybrid Leagues
Group Reward: 1x Jumbo Rare Players Pack (Untradeable)
The Hybrid Leagues SBC is the first of the Advanced SBCs we'll be tackling. As the name suggests, you will need to complete challenges using Players from multiple Leagues, which will likely mean the Squads will be based on Players from the same Nation.
Before we start, the solutions shown below are just examples and are not the only way to complete the SBCs. They are meant to be used as guides and you will likely find cheaper solutions based on when you buy the Players and if you already have a few suitable Players in your Club already.
Give Me Five:
- Exactly 5 Leagues in Squad
- Max. 4 Players from the same League
- Max. 4 Players from the same Club
- Min. Rare Players: 6
- Min. Team Rating: 69
- Min. 15 Squad Total Chemistry Points
- SBC Reward: 1x Premium Gold Players Pack (Untradeable)
Give Me Five is relatively simple because there are so many different ways to complete this SBC. You can use a mixture of Bronze and Silver Cards from a variety of Nations from 5 different Leagues, just as long as 6 of the Players are Rare. In my example, I used a few strong links to reach the Chemistry Point requirement and then filled in the gaps. The low Chemistry Requirement means you can get away with a few players being out of position too.
Seven-League Boots:
- Exactly 7 Leagues in Squad
- Max. 3 Players from the same League
- Max. 3 Players from the same Club
- Min. Team Rating: 78
- Min. 1 Chemistry Points on Each Player
- Min. 18 Squad Total Chemistry Points
- SBC Reward: 1x Rare Gold Pack (Untradeable)
There’s quite a big Rating jump going from Give Me Five to Seven-League Boots, so you will likely need to start using Players from a Nation with lots of Gold Cards in different Leagues. I used Germany as my main Nation, then linked in Japan as a second Nation just to finish it off, but France, Brazil, Argentina, and Spain are all suitable Nations for this SBC.
Just be aware that every Player requires a minimum of 1 Chemistry Point, which means that every Player in the Squad must be both in the correct Position and have enough Chemistry links to get that 1 Chemistry Point.
The Whole Nine Yards:
- Exactly 9 Leagues in Squad
- Max 2 Players from the same League
- Max. 2 Players from the same Club
- Min. 6 Players: Rare
- Min. Team Rating: 80
- Min. 21 Squad Total Chemistry Points
- SBC Reward: 1x Prime Gold Players Pack (Untradeable)
With the requirements now demanding you to use exactly 9 Leagues, the easiest way to complete this SBC is to concentrate on using one or two nations. In my example, I basically concentrated on building a full French team as French Players are found in a variety of different leagues, then I put in Taremi at Striker just to boost the rating up to 80, but, again, Brazil, Argentina, and Spain are all suitable for this SBC too. You may be required to start using Position Modifiers at this point, such as changing Coquelin from CM to CDM, so you will need to think about that before buying any of the Players.
First XI:
- Exactly 11 Leagues in Squad
- Player Quality: Exactly Gold
- Min. 7 Players: Rare
- Min. 2 Chemistry Points on Each Player
- Min 27 Squad Total Chemistry Points
- SBC Reward: 1x Rare Players Pack (Untradeable)
Although this might look easy because it’s basically just a full nation Squad, the difficulty comes in having the right Players in the right Positions, and from the right Leagues. For my example, I used a full Argentinian team, as Argentinians are one of the most widespread Players in the game, and even that just about meets the requirements, so this SBC might take you a while to complete. Unfortunately, due to the fact very few Nations are spread across different Leagues, the Players from the "obscure" Leagues will undoubtedly be expensive, so you will need to consider that before you commit to completing the SBC.
