The Ultimate Edition and Standard Edition of FIFA23 come with two very different prices. Here we'll break down the two available options for purchasing FIFA23. For some, there will be a clear winner, but for others, it will be a little more complicated. Let us know which version you'll be purchasing, and why, in the comments below.
Ultimate Edition:
- 3 days early access (Play from September 27)
- Dual Entitlement (Upgrade to the Next Gen version for free — see below)
- Ones To Watch Player Item
- 4600 FIFA Points
- Team of the Week 1 Player Item
- Kylian Mbappé Loan Item for 5 FIFA Ultimate Team matches
- FUT Ambassador Loan Player Pick (Choose between Davies, Son, and Vinícius Jr.) for 3 FIFA Ultimate Team matches
- Career Mode Homegrown Talent
*Those who pre-ordered the Ultimate Edition before August 21 are entitled to a free FIFA World Cup FUT Heroes Item, however, that offer has now expired, so any Ultimate Edition pre-orders from now on will NOT include this bonus. The FIFA World Cup FUT Heroes Item will be distributed on Friday, November 11, 2022.
Standard Edition:
- Team of the Week 1 Player Item
- Kylian Mbappé Loan Item for 5 FIFA Ultimate Team matches
- FUT Ambassador Loan Player Pick (Choose between Davies, Son, and Vinícius Jr.) for 3 FIFA Ultimate Team matches
- Career Mode Homegrown Talent
Dual Entitlement
One key point to remember is the Ultimate Edition comes with Dual Entitlement, meaning you’ll be able to upgrade your game from PS4 to PS5 or from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S at no additional charge, so if you’re planning on upgrading your console at some point in the next few months, buying the Ultimate Edition will save you from having to buy the game again on your new console.

So, which Edition should you go for?
It's up to you to decide whether the bonuses you get with the Ultimate Edition are worth the extra cost. If you're an avid Ultimate Team player, the extra FIFA Points and the 3-day early access bonuses could help you get ahead during the early stages of the game. Furthermore, if you plan to upgrade from a PS4 to PS5 or Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S during the cycle, and plan to continue playing FIFA23, Dual Entitlement will make the Ultimate Edition worthwhile. However, if you spend most of your time in the other game modes available to play and don't mind waiting a few days, the Standard Edition would be the wiser choice.
