Hello and welcome to our prediction for Team of the Week 13 which will be released on Wednesday this week!
This week looks pretty decent to be honest! While Manchester United continued their run in the Premier League, Chelsea lost to Southampton and Arsenal took advantage of Man City's draw which should result in some tasty Premier League informs. The biggest name who could probably be featured is Kylian Mbappé after Paris and Lille played out a thrilling game at Parc de Princes but Bundesliga and La Liga also could bring some cool cards too! But enough said, go on and check out who could be in TOTW17!
STARTING XI
GK: Alisson (Liverpool FC) - 89 OVR -> 90 OVR:
Liverpool claimed an impressive 2-0 win over ten-man Newcastle on Saturday night as England goalkeeper Nick Pope was sent off in the first half. The Brazilian was again a standout player, making a big early save to deny Miguel Almiron and then producing a wonderful raking pass in the lead-up to Nick Pope being sent off. He thwarted Allan Saint-Maximin and made another big stop late on to deny Callum Wilson, in what was a faultless performance.
RB: James Tavernier (Rangers) - 78 OVR -> 86 OVR:
Michael Beale remains unbeaten as Light Blues boss after a comfortable afternoon at the Tony Macaroni Arena. James Tavernier got himself forward to create chances sent Livi goalkeeper George the wrong way with a finely taken penalty and then doubled Rangers lead with a stunning free kick.
CB: Facundo Medina (RC Lens) - 76 OVR -> 83 OVR:
RC Lens got back to winning ways as they beat FC Nantes 3-1 at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis on Sunday which was an 11th win in 12 home Ligue 1 games this season for Lens, who are right on the tails of the top three. Argentinian defender Medina not only kept a clean sheet but also managed to register an assist and picked up an 8 match rating from L'Equipe which usually is enough to pick up an inform.
LB: Borna Sosa (VfB Stuttgart) - 78 OVR -> 84 OVR:
VfB Stuttgart picked up a much-needed and morale-boosting 3-0 win over Cologne to move out of the relegation places with Gil Dias, Borna Sosa and Tanguy Coulibaly delighting the Mercedes-Benz Arena faithful. Sosa is the one I'm predicting to pick up the inform for his goal and after made it into Kicker's TOTW.
CM: Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund) - 85 OVR -> 87 OVR:
Borussia Dortmund moved up to second place in the Bundesliga standings, level on points with leaders Bayern Munich and Union Berlin at third, after earning a 4-1 win against a battling Hertha Berlin side. Reus looked like a man on a mission on his return to the starting XI. He helped make both of Borussia Dortmund’s first half goals happen. His run into the box for the opening goal was especially delightful, as he dribbled his way past three defenders before setting up Adeyemi. The BVB captain then made it 3-1 with a stunning free-kick.
CM: Sergi Roberto (Barcelona) - 80 OVR -> 86 OVR:
Robert Lewandowski netted his 24th Barcelona goal to help the Catalans beat Cadiz 2-0 and restore their eight-point lead at the top of La Liga on Sunday. I'm predicting Sergi Roberto to pick up the inform tho after his performance in central midfield where the Spaniard registered a goal and an assist.
CM: James Ward-Prowse (Southampton) - 87 OVR -> 89 OVR:
Chelsea's misery under Graham Potter reached a new low as they were stunned 1-0 by managerless Southampton at Stamford Bridge on Saturday. James Ward-Prowse once again delivered a sensational performance in midfield but his best moment came when he fired his side ahead with a brilliant free-kick in the bottom of the corner of the Chelsea goal.
RM: Bruno Fernandes (Manchester United) - 86 OVR -> 88 OVR:
Manchester United extended their unbeaten sequence to 12 Premier League games at Old Trafford with a 3-0 victory at home to Leicester City on Sunday afternoon. Bruno Fernandes punctuated his performance with some devilishly delicate passes and finished the game with two assists to his name.
CF: Dusan Tadic (Ajax) - 84 OVR -> 87 OVR:
Ajax continued their good run of form after the sacked Schreuder a few weeks ago and picked up another comfortable win with a 4-0 at home against Sparta Rotterdam. Serbian international Dusan Tadic was the standout player with two goals and one assist and even though one of the goals came from the spot I can see him in the side this week.
ST: Ciro Immobile (Latium) - 87 OVR -> 89 OVR:
Lazio Roma went back on winning ways in the Serie A with a 2-0 win against Salernitana and moved back up to fifth in the standins after Atalanta's surprising loss at home to Lecce. Ciro Immobile finally seems to be back in form after all his injuries in recent months as he was the main man that day, scoring both of the goals for his side.
ST: Kylian Mbappé (Paris SG) - 92 OVR -> 93 OVR:
After three successive defeats in all competitions, Paris Saint-Germain got back to winning ways in dramatic fashion on Sunday, coming from behind late on to seal a 4-3 win over Lille thanks to a stoppage-time winner from Messi from a direct free-kick. Mbappé tho scored an absolutely superb goal to put PSG 1-0 up and added another to kick-off the late comeback. Reminded PSG exactly how badly they need him in the side.
SUBS & RESERVES
SUBS
GK:Bernd Leno (Fulham) - 84 OVR -> 87 OVR:
Fulham pulled off the ultimate smash and grab in Sussex with a huge win that took Joao Palhinha’s Cottage’s into sixth place in the Premier League, sitting just three points off the Champions League places. Bernd Leno had a lot to do that day and had to make a couple of important saves to deny Brighton. He finished the game with a total of seven saves and could pick up his second inform this week.
RB: Seamus Coleman (Everton) - 76 OVR -> 83 OVR:
Everton recorded an important and narrow 1-0 win against Leeds United last weekend thanks to a sensational strike from captain Seamus Coleman to beat Illan Meslier from the tightest of angles out wide, he’d already been getting forward to good effect for most of the game and rewarded himself with the goal.
CDM: Manu Koné (M'gladbach) - 77 OVR -> 83 OVR:
Jonas Hofmann starred and Dayot Upamecano was sent off as Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich dropped points in the title race after losing 3-2 at Borussia Mönchengladbach. Hofmann was named POTW after his two goals and the assist but with his recent inform in TOTW14 he's unlikely to be in and instead I'm going with Manu Koné who had an amazing game in the middle of the park, shutting down a lot of Bayern attacks and also went forward a couple of times.
CM: Dani Rodriguez (RCD Mallorca) - 76 OVR -> 83 OVR:
RCD Mallorca went back on winning ways and picked up their ninth win of the season, beating a struggling Villareal side with 4-2. Spanish midfielder Dani Rodriguez was named MOTM after he scored twice and should be in this week.
RM: Viktor Tsygankov (Girona) - 80 OVR -> 84 OVR:
Girona recorded their seventh win of the 2022/23 La Liga campaign, running riot in their 6-2 home win against Almeria. Ukrainian midfielder Viktor Tsygankov scored one and assisted another and could pick up his first inform for his new club.
ST: Arnaud Kalimuendo (Stade Rennais) - 76 OVR -> 83 OVR:
Stade Rennais regained confidence and went back on winning ways after two consecutive defeats, beating Clermont Foot at home with 2-0. Both goals came from U-21 forward Kalimuendo and despite not making it into L'Equipes TOTW I'm predicting him to be in EA's.
ST: Tom Bradshaw (Millwall) - 77 OVR -> 83 OVR:
Tom Bradshaw scored a brilliant hat-trick as Millwall boosted their promotion hopes and dented Sheffield United's with a thrilling 3-2 win at The Den.
RESERVES:
CM: Nicolai Vallys (Brøndby IF) - 73 OVR -> 82 OVR:
The Danish league restarted last weekend and we will already see the first inform coming from there after Brondby recorded their first three points of the season with a 5-2 over Horsens and Vallys scoring three of the goals.
CM: Tobias Bech (FC Ingolstadt) - 65 OVR -> 79 OVR:
Saabrücken and Ingolstadt played out a thrilling game on the weekend in Germany's third divison, with the better outcome for the visitors who ran out as 4-3 winners. Tobias Bech was the decisive player for his side, scoring three times and made sure his side went home with a win.
CAM: Giovanni Crociata (Cittadella) - 67 OVR -> 80 OVR:
The only player in the reserves this week without a hat-trick is coming from Italy in the name of Crociata who scored twice and registered a assist in his side's narrow 3-2 win against Reggina.
LM: Luis Rioja (Dep. Alaves) - 74 OVR -> 82 OVR:
Alaves recored their fifth straight La Liga 2 victory with a 4-2 against UD Ibiza and continued to boost their promotion hopes, sitting just one point behind leaders Las Palmas. Luis Rioja scored three of the four goals and should be in this week.
ST: Tim Kleindienst (Heidenheim) - 71 OVR -> 81 OVR:
FC Heidenheim went back on winning ways in style after a draw and a loss, recording a 5-0 victory against Nürnberg. The best player without any doubts was Tim Kleindienst who scored four of the five goals and I would be shocked not to see him in the side this week.
