Another month of top-flight football in Italy is done and Napoli still remains unbeaten on top of the table after impressive performances while they were hunted by Atalanta, Milan & Lazio. While Napoli continues their good run of form the other top side's struggled from time to time, especially on the last matchday with Lazio and Milan both losing their games. Even though there are a couple of candidates for the POTM award it should be a Napoli player to pick it up but go on and see who I think could be nominated soon!
CM: Nicolo Barella (Inter) - 87 OVR -> 88 OVR:
3 goals & 2 assists; 5 games - 3 wins - 1 draw - 1 loss
Starting with the first player in my prediction in the name of Nicolo Barella. It looks like Inter Milan finally found their form in the league after a sluggish end of September and finished October on a four games win streak in the league. One of Inter's most inform player in October was Italian international Nicolo Barella who's dictating the game in the middle of the park and finished October with 3 goals and 2 assists.
CB: Danilo (Juventus) - 80 OVR -> 83 OVR:
2 assists & 4 clean sheets; 5 games - 4 wins - 0 draws - 1 loss
Next up is Danilo who's natural position is right-back but slowly switched position this season and now mainly plays on the right in Juventus' back-three. The Brazilian defender proved to be a rock in the last couple of games (at least in the Serie A) with Juventus recording 4 clean sheets in 5 games. On top of that, Danilo also registered two assists.
LW: Mattia Zaccagni (Latium) - 79 OVR -> 82 OVR:
4 goals & 2 assists; 5 games - 3 wins - 1 draw - 1 loss
With Ciro Immobile being injured and out until after the world cup, Lazio is in need of a reliable forward and Mattia Zaccagni proves to be exactly that this season so far. The Italian winger, who's career kick-started late compared to others, have been his side's top scorer in October with 4 goals and two assists to his name and should be among the nominees.
ST: Ademola Lookman (Atalanta) - 77 OVR -> 81 OVR:
4 goals; 5 games - 3 wins - 1 draw - 1 loss
When you think about Atalanta's attacking players the first one who usually comes into your mind is the Colombian forward Muriel but actually it isn't him being his side's top-scorer of the 2022/23 Serie A campaign, it's Lookman. He joined Atalanta from German side RB Leipzig this summer and it looks like he finally found his scoring boots, finishing October with 4 goals.
LW: Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (Napoli FC) - 74 OVR -> 80 OVR:
2 goals & 3 assists; 5 games - 5 wins - 0 draws - 0 losses
The last player in my prediction and one of the most hyped and best players across all top leagues this season is Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. He joined Napoli for €10m this summer and you already can call this a bargain or even the steal of the summer if you've seen him play. He completely changed Napoli's attacking gameplay, wether it's in the league or in the Champions League, scoring or assisting in nearly every game he's on the pitch. The young Georgian finished October with 2 goals and 3 assists but even when he wasn't scoring he was one of the best players on the pitch and I would be surprised if it's not him picking up the award or at least someone from Napoli.
Alright, this was my Serie A October Player of the Month prediction, who do you think will win and pick up the award? For me it should be a Napoli player again after they went unbeaten the whole month and let's be honest, it can only be Kvaradonna or Osimhen.
