Hello and welcome to my Bundesliga October Player of the Month prediction here on FUT.GG!
After a rather quiet month from the usual Bundesliga top sides like Bayern, Dortmund or Leipzig we saw one of the weaker nominee batch in terms of Fifa but in October that should change as Bayern found back to their usual form and dominated their games with a couple of high scoring results which could even see them getting two players in the nominees.
Could Christopher Nkunku be the Bundesliga POTM for October?
Christoper Nkunku's stats were 5 goals; 5 games – 3 wins – 2 draws in October.
We're starting with RB Leipzig's Nkunku who seems to have finally found his form from last season after a slower start to the 2022/23 Bundesliga campaign. The Frenchman is an important player in Leipzig's attacking play and the five goals in the league have shown that in October. One of the best players in the league and a very popular player in Fifa too, really good chance for him to win the award!
If Christopher Nkunku was October's Bundesliga POTM he'd likely see an upgrade from 86 OVR -> 87 OVR.
Will Jude Bellingham be the Bundesliga POTM for October?
Jude Bellingham's stats were 3 goals & 1 assist; 5 games – 2 wins – 1 draw – 2 losses in October.
Another player you had to mention when talking about individual awards is Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham. The 19-years-old Englishman is already the most important player in Dortmund squad, leading the team on and off the pitch and being the engine in midfield. Although Borussia Dortmund did not have the best month overall in the league with losses against Union Berlin and Cologne, Bellingham still stood out and his side would have lost more games without his three goals and one assist. Jude Bellingham is one of the hottest prospects in world football and is a top three contender for October.
If Jude Bellingham was October's Bundesliga POTM he'd likely see an upgrade from 86 OVR -> 87 OVR.
Will Bundesliga POTM for October be Jamal Musiala?
Jamal Musiala's stats were 4 goals & 2 assists; 5 games – 4 wins – 1 draw in October.
Starting with probably the best player of the current Bundesliga campaign so far, Jamal Musiala is fascinating people on a weekly basis with his movement, his vision and his ability to score goals. The young German international is the heart of Bayern's attack and has shown his qualities again in October, scoring four goals and registering two assist. Musiala is one of the best and most hyped teenagers in world football and probably the favourite to win it.
If Jamal Musiala was October's Bundesliga POTM he'd likely see an upgrade from 84 OVR -> 86 OVR.
Could Marcus Thuram be named Bundesliga POTM for October?
Marcus Thuram's stats were 5 goals; 5 games – 1 win – 1 draw – 3 losses in October.
Another French attacker we could see in the nominees for the October POTM is Marcus Thuram from Borussia M'gladbach. Gladbach didn't had the best month in terms of results with heavy losses against Bremen but also good results such as their 5-2 derby win over Cologne. Thuram was the most consistent performer for his side with five goals and deserves a nomination. Even though his inform was popular I can't see him being the winner.
If Marcus Thuram was October's Bundesliga POTM he'd likely see an upgrade from 84 OVR -> 86 OVR.
Will Paulo Otavio be Bundesliga POTM for October?
Paulo Otavio's stats were 4 assists; 5 games – 2 wins – 3 draws in October.
The only defender we could see in the Bundesliga POTM voting could and should be Wolfsburg Paulo Otavio. The Brazilian left-back enjoyed a really good October with the Wolves as went unbeaten, even though most of their games ended in a draw. Otavio registered four assists across these games, with two of them against Gladbach to secure the draw. Not the worst card overall but I can't see him getting a lot attention and no chance for him to win.
If Paulo Otávio was October's Bundesliga POTM he'd likely see an upgrade from 76 OVR -> 81 OVR.
Could Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting be October's Bundesliga POTM?
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting's stats were 3 goals & 2 assist; 5 games – 4 wins – 1 draw in October.
Who would have thought at the start of the season that we will see Choupo-Moting among the nominees for the POTM award but it is more than deserved! The Cameroon international was Lewandowski's backup and it took a while for him to be a regular starter after Lewa's departure but now it looks like Bayern finally found their new number 9. Choupo-Moting scored for fun in October, not only in the league, and with three goals and two assists you can ignore him. Probably not the best card in terms of overall stats but surely a fun card to use if he wins but most likely not the best chance.
If Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting was October's Bundesliga POTM he'd likely see an upgrade from 75 OVR -> 81 OVR.
Will Niclas Füllkrug be October's Bundesliga POTM?
Niclas Füllkrug's stats were 4 goals & 2 assists; 5 games – 3 wins – 2 losses in October.
Back to back nomination and back to back POTM for Niclas Füllkrug? The German attacker started October where he ended September, scoring goals. He was once again the main reason Bremen picked up points in tough games against Hoffenheim or Hertha Berlin but he also had a three games goal drought. His first POTM was fun to use but with him among player like Musiala, Bellingham or Nkunku I can't see him winning again.
If Niclas Füllkrug was October's Bundesliga POTM he'd likely see an upgrade from 84 OVR -> 86 OVR.
Who will be Bundesliga POTM for October?
Having considered all the options above, my prediction for Bundesliga Player of the month for October is either Musiala or Choupo-Moting as the fan vote counts for 40% and Bayern is the most known club from the Bundesliga. Based on performances, statistics and impact it should probably be Füllkrug. As a Dortmund fan I hope it will be Bellingham, but realistically it's going to be one of the two previously mentioned.
Alright, that was my prediction for the Bundesliga October Player of the Month, the official voting should come between the 7th and 9th of November. Who would you vote for and who do you think will win October's Bundesliga POTM? Let us know in the comments!
