Welcome to my predictions for the Ligue 1 Team of the Season in EA FC 24! Today I’m going to be giving some insight into who might be in TOTS this year from Ligue 1, as well as their potential stats and PlayStyles.
I’ll be predicting a Starting XI with 6 subs, as well as a few honorable mentions at the end who could be in with a shout. To note, this is a prediction of what I think EA will do for Team of the Season, rather than a list of who I think is the most deserving.
TOTS Ligue 1 Starting XI
Goalkeeper: Marcin Bułka - Nice
Marcin has been a stand out in a strong season for Nice, with the joint-fewest goals conceded in the league at time of writing. If Nice could score as well as they defend, they might be near the top of the table.
Right Back: Jonathan Clauss - Marseille
It has been a difficult season for Marseille, but Jonathan Clauss is often one of their best players with his dangerous attacking runs from right back. Clauss is often an underrated player in Ultimate Team, and promises to be a strong player in TOTS.
Center Back: Jean-Clair Todibo - Nice
Joining his goalkeeper teammate, Todibo has been a rock at the back for Nice. His pace, reading of the game, and eye for a pass have led to some summer transfer hype. The former Barcelona defender could be the best center back in Ligue 1.
Center Back: Facundo Medina - Lens
Lens had a disastrous start to their season, but have been steadily improving and now find themselves in 6th. Medina is key to the way Lens play, with his ability to distribute from the left center back role. Many will remember him for his strong TOTS item last year.
Left Back: Lucas Hernández - PSG
Our first PSG player on the list, Hernández has mostly played left back this season, although can still be very good at center back. Most Ultimate Team players will probably prefer him at center back, but his versatility will be a good addition to any squad.
Center Midfielder: Angel Gomes - Lille
Once a hyped #10 for Man United, Gomes has reinvented himself as a deep lying playmaker in France. His distribution and press breaking are top notch, and he’s helped guide Lille to fourth in the league at time of writing. His ability to play multiple midfield roles will make him a strong TOTS.
Center Midfielder: Warren Zaïre-Emery - PSG
A future star in the making, “WZE” has been a revelation in Paris. He’s equally effective on the ball as he is at screening the defense. Despite his young age, he’s already one of the best midfielders in the league, and will surely go on to be one of the best in the world.
Center Midfielder: Téji Savanier - Montpellier
The hometown hero of Montpellier, Savanier is the heart and soul of the club. He’s a wonderful player on the pitch as well, with great set pieces and passing from midfield. He’ll likely be an under-the-radar Ultimate Team player who is far better than people expect.
Right Wing: Ousmane Dembélé - PSG
A long-time Ultimate Team favorite, Ousmane has been a terror down the wings in Ligue 1 this season. He’s able to both score and create for others, and his pace and dribbling skills are a joy to watch. He will be one of the most sought-after players in this team.
Left Wing: Kylian Mbappé - PSG
It appears we have reached our final season of Kylian Mbappé in Ligue 1. Before he departs, every Ultimate Team player will be trying to pack arguably the best player in the game - both in Ultimate Team and real life. He’s the star of the league, and will have an incredible TOTS item to suit.
Striker: Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang - Marseille
The former Arsenal man has had a wonderful career renaissance in Ligue 1, scoring consistently for Marseille. His rapid pace in behind combined with lethal finishing has made him a frightening player both in real life and in Ultimate Team. He has also done a good job of creating for his teammates.
TOTS Ligue 1 Mini-Release, SBCs & Objectives
Center Back: Brendan Chardonnet - Brest
At the time of writing, Brest incredibly sit in second place in the league, having massively outperformed expectations. One key to this success has been Chardonnet’s impressive displays in defense.
Center Midfielder: Benjamin Bourigeaud - Rennes
An underrated player in the league, Bourigeaud has great delivery into the box from deep and wide areas. He’s also capable of playing in midfield and at right wing.
Center Midfielder: Aleksandr Golovin - Monaco
Golovin has been a great player for many years now, and is one of the main reasons Monaco sit in third place at time of writing. He’s capable of banging goals and picking out assists as well.
Center Midfielder: Vitinha - PSG
Vitinha’s silky dribbling has been a great asset to PSG as they look to overhaul their midfield. He complements Zaïre-Emery to make a strong pair to dominate the middle.
Striker: Alexandre Lacazette - Lyon
Similar to his former teammate Aubameyang, Lacazette has been fantastic in Ligue 1. His goals have been a big factor in Lyon avoiding relegation this season.
Striker: Jonathan David - Lille
David is a two-footed beast of a striker, who is always a threat in the penalty box. He seems to have an underrated TOTS item every season, and is definitely worth checking out.
