Welcome to my predictions for the LaLiga Team of the Season in EA FC 24! Today I’m going to be giving some insight into who might be in TOTS this year from LaLiga, as well as their potential stats and PlayStyles.
I’ll be predicting a Starting XI with 6 subs, as well as a few honorable mentions at the end who could be in with a shout. To note, this is a prediction of what I think EA will do for Team of the Season, rather than a list of who I think is the most deserving.
TOTS La Liga Starting XI
Goalkeeper: Unai Simón - Athletic Club
Simón has helped Athletic Club to 4th at time of writing by having the second-fewest goals conceded in the league, after only leaders Real Madrid. He has played every minute of every league game, and shown himself to be one of the best goalkeepers in Spain.
Right Back: Jules Koundé - Barcelona
Koundé may prefer to play center back, but he’s been a star at right back for Barcelona this season. His ability to offer defensive solidity while still contributing to attacks has been key. Ultimate Team players will likely play him at center back, but he takes the right back spot for his real-life performances.
Center Back: Ronald Araújo - Barcelona
Joining his previously-mentioned teammate, Araújo has been a defensive beast. His combination of pace, strength, and aerial ability makes him dangerous on both ends of the pitch. Many Ultimate Team players enjoyed using him throughout this cycle, and his TOTS promises to be another top player.
Center Back: Antonio Rüdiger - Real Madrid
The first of many Real Madrid players on this list, Rüdiger has been fantastic for the league’s best defense. Similar to Araújo, he offers a threat from set pieces with his aerial ability. Another early-game favorite, he should be one that many are looking to add to their squads.
Left Back: João Cancelo - Barcelona
The third Barcelona player on this list, Cancelo offers a unique ability to play as a right-footed left back. His unpredictable runs allow him to invert or go wide to whip crosses in. As someone who has played in both fullback roles this season, he should offer good versatility at the back for Ultimate Team players.
Center Midfielder: Aleix García - Girona
Our first player outside of the Clásico sides, Aleix has had a fantastic season in Girona’s shock early-season title charge. Although the club’s form has trailed off a bit, he has had a great individual season with 3 goals and 6 assists from a defensive midfield role.
Center Midfielder: Toni Kroos - Real Madrid
Kroos has aged like fine wine. He has 7 assists from a defensive midfield role this season. Toni’s stable presence allows Real Madrid’s young stars to shine going forward, and he has also improved at his ability to screen in defense. A legend of the game, Kroos is always a popular player in EA FC, and this item should be another great one.
Center Midfielder: Federico Valverde - Real Madrid
Joining Kroos is his teammate, Fede Valverde. As an all-action midfielder with an eye for goal, he’s a great Ultimate Team player as well. Valverde has matched Kroos’ 7 assists so far, and also contributes a lot of energy in defense. Those two will form a deadly pair in Rivals and UT Champions.
Right Wing: Sávio - Girona
Our second Girona player, Sávio, has been incredible this season. A tricky winger with lots of pace and an eye for goal, he could be a great budget option for Ultimate Team players. It’s no wonder why Manchester City have already agreed to purchase him this summer.
Left Wing: Vinícius Júnior - Real Madrid
It’s been another strong season for Vini, who is among the most popular players in the world, and in Ultimate Team. He’s sure to be an expensive card, but many will be hoping to buy this player with 5* skills and incredible pace and dribbling. ¡Baila Vini!
Striker: Jude Bellingham - Real Madrid
By far the most obvious inclusion in this team is Jude Bellingham. He’s played in the perfect role for his abilities this season, almost as a false 9. As he already had a well-rounded TOTY item, I’m predicting we get a striker Bellingham that is reflective of the incredible goalscoring season he’s had.
TOTS La Liga Mini-Release, SBCs & Objectives
Right Back: Yan Couto - Girona
Couto’s marauding performances from right wingback have recently earned him a call up to the Brazil squad. His combination play with Sávio has been a joy to watch, and should be easy to replicate in Ultimate Team.
Center Back: Axel Witsel - Atlético Madrid
Those who do not follow LaLiga may be surprised to know that Witsel is now a dominant center back, rather than the box-to-box midfielder many knew him as. He’s been a strong player for Simeone’s defense this season.
Center Midfielder: Koke - Atlético Madrid
Joining Witsel is Koke, another reliable player for Simeone’s side. He should provide an affordable all-around midfield alternative to the Real Madrid midfielders in TOTS.
Attacking Midfielder: Isco - Real Betis
A long time fan-favorite, Isco has had an incredible resurgence this season with Betis. He’s surely an SBC that many would want to get into their teams.
Right Wing: Antoine Griezmann - Atlético Madrid
Although Grizi has often played in a deeper role lately, he’s still a phenomenal player. Atleti has had an up-and-down season, but Grizi is still one of the best in LaLiga.
Striker: Artem Dobvyk - Girona
Our final Girona player on the list, Dobvyk has been extremely impressive up top for Girona. His 14 goals and 5 assists have helped lead Girona to near the top of the table.
Honorable Mentions
The following players have a chance at making this team, but just missed out. Look out for them still featuring in some capacity.
- Álex Baena
- Rodrygo
- Robert Lewandowski
- Nico Williams
