I would be lying if I said I wasn't excited when I jumped on to see EA have released a Flashback Falcao SBC. At a first glance, it's a very intriguing card that has the potential to fit the current meta. Let's look deeper at the new Flashback player and see if it's worth completing the Falcao SBC.
Flashback Falcao SBC
From looking at previous versions of Falcao in recent years, he's one of those players who despite how incredible he once was in real life, there was never quite a FIFA card of his that had a big appeal. One of the big letdowns was always his pace and the complaints that he was "only" 3-star skill moves and 4-star weak foot. However, with the current FIFA 23 meta and how the game plays, all of that is changing and this SBC has the potential to be one of the best value players we see during the early months of the game.
There has been no boost to his skill moves or weak foot, and that might annoy some players but skill moves aren't as vital at the moment and the 4-star weak foot along with the Outside Foot Shot and Finesse Shot trait is more than enough to find success. For a good comparison, players like TOTW Shomurodov are also 3* 4* but play incredibly well in-game.
The only concern about Falcao will be the lack of links. There is a complete lack of Rayo Vallecano links, and there are a couple of Colombian players that could be used, for example, Cordoba, Diaz, Muriel, Cuadrado, and Dynamic Duo Suárez if you wanted to down the hybrid route. Essentially you will either need to commit to a La Liga or Colombian-heavy hybrid to get Falcao onto full chemistry, but with the amount of good La Liga players available already, this shouldn't be too much of an issue.
To answer the question majority of you are likely asking. Yes, Falcao will have the Lengthy AcceleRATE if you apply the Architect chemistry to him. Outside of that, he will be Controlled.
How much does the Flashback Falcao SBC cost?
There can be absolutely no complaints about this, as this SBC is coming in relatively cheap and should be very easy to complete. You can find the full requirements below.
El Tigre
Min. 1 Players from: Atlético de Madrid
Min. Team Rating: 83
You will get a Small Electrum Players Pack for completing this segment.
LaLiga
Min. 1 Players from: LaLiga Santander
Min. 2 player with minimum OVR of 86
Min. Team Rating: 84
You will get a Small Prime Electrum Players Pack for completing this segment.
Overall the cost for the Flashback Falcao SBC is 54,000 coins. This isn't necessarily cheap when you consider you can pick up the likes of TOTW Muriel for less than 20,000 coins and he will be tradable, but thanks to the traits Falcao has and how well-rounded his passing is for a ST at this point in the game cycle, it seems like he'll have that edge in-game.
Is it worth completing the Flashback Falcao SBC?
Overall, there are so many positives for Falcao in FIFA 23. He has received a big pace boost to make him more usable, you can apply a Hunter to boost this further and keep him Controlled or an Architect to get him on the Lengthy style, that will depend on your personal preference. High attacking and medium defensive work rates are ideal, passing and physicals will hold up well for the coming months and the shooting is very well-rounded. This combined with the meta traits makes this a very tempting SBC to complete. If you can overcome the more difficult task of getting him to full chemistry, then you could have a brilliant new striker.
Complete or Yeet? Complete. For the sake of 50,000 coins to get yourself a great first-owned La Liga striker, this one is a no-brainer. Keep in mind that historically Icon Swaps require first-owner squads, so it adds even more value to picking up player SBCs this like when you can.
