Player of the Month Miguel Almirón
Let’s start off by saying that Miguel Almirón winning the October Premier League POTM award is richly deserved. Yes, Erling Haaland had 8 goal contributions in the Premier League in October compared to Almirón’s 6, but Almirón has been in electrifying form this season and is a worthy winner of the award.
In terms of his POTM SBC, there are some immediate positives to highlight. Firstly, he’s been given a substantial +7 upgrade from his regular Gold Item, which includes a +11 upgrade to his Shooting and a +8 upgrade to his Passing stats. Secondly, his POTM Item has been upgraded to have a 4* Weak Foot, up from his 2* Weak Foot from his regular Gold Item. Finally, he retains his versatility as he can also play in RM, CM, and CAM.
Although Almirón isn’t able to be Lengthy, he’s Explosive with every Chemistry Style you give him, so he should feel rapid in-game.
How much does the Premier League POTM Miguel Almirón SBC cost?
Currently, the price of the two SBC squads combined is around 95,000 coins starting from scratch, but it will be cheaper if you have some untradeables in your Club that you can use. The requirements for the SBC are listed below:
Squad 1: Top Form
- Min. 1 Team of the Week Player
- Min. Team Rating: 84
Squad 2: Premier League
- Min. 1 Player from Premier League
- Min. Team Rating: 85
The SBC will expire on Sunday, December 11th, so you have an entire month to complete it if you want to.
Is the Premier League POTM Miguel Almirón SBC worth it?
Many people thought the Out of Position Federico Chiesa SBC, which was valued at around 140,000 coins at the time, was excellent value for money, so the POTM Almirón SBC costing around 95,000 coins should be regarded just as well priced. It’s also good value when you compare him to RTTK Raphinha, who has very similar stats to Almirón, who is currently on the market for around 175,000 coins, albeit with better links.
The main concern is Almirón isn’t the easiest player to link with. You have TOTW Kieran Trippier, Bruno Guimarães, and Callum Wilson as the best Newcastle players to link him with but, unless you already have a Premier League squad, it’ll be difficult to fit him into your team on full chemistry. Paraguay isn’t exactly blessed with talent either, so you can’t realistically go with that route either.
Overall, it’s a decent SBC, and certainly isn’t something to turn your nose up to right away, but with World Cup content dropping on FUT tonight, it might be worth hanging on to your coins and fodder just in case something more worthwhile comes along in the near future.
