The first Serie A POTM SBC has been released after Napoli's South Korean defender, Kim Min Jae, was crowned the Serie A POTM for September. On paper, the POTM Kim Min Jae seems like quite a good CB option for players running with Serie A squads this year, but is the SBC worth completing? Let's find out.
What are the SBC requirements?
Squad 1: Tactical Emulation
- Min 1 Player from Napoli FC
- Min. Team Rating: 83
Squad 2: Serie A
- Min 1 Player from Serie A
- Min. Team Rating: 85
How much does POTM Kim Min Jae cost?
The price of the two Squads combined is around 55,000 coins starting from scratch, but it’ll be cheaper if you have some untradeables in your Club that you can use.
When does POTM Kim Min Jae expire?
The SBC will expire on October 30th, so you have an entire month to complete it.
Is POTM Kim Min Jae worth it?
On the face of it, Kim Min Jae’s POTM Item looks like a decent CB. He has over 80 Pace, he’s 6'3", and he has M/H Work Rates, however, it seems like POTM upgrades have been nerfed this year, which means that this Item isn’t a huge upgrade over his regular Gold Item, and to submit around 55,000 coins worth of assets to complete this SBC for an Item that hasn't received a significant upgrade just doesn’t seem like a wise move for me. Although you have a month to complete it, I imagine there'll be better CB options than POTM Kim Min Jae in Serie A to use by the time the SBC expires.
If you can’t afford the likes of Tomori, who is around 70,000 coins, completing this SBC might seem like a good idea, but if you just wanted a cheaper CB from the Serie A, you could just buy Bremer or Škriniar, who cost a fraction of the cost of Tomori and the POTM Kim Min Jae SBC. Plus, you can always sell Bremer and Škriniar whenever you next upgrade your team, whereas you permanently lose all those coins/assets if you complete the POTM SBC, so that's the route I would take.
