I was shocked and excited when logging onto FIFA 23 this evening to see that they have released a Dynamic Duos SBC so early into the game cycle. They've started things off with Marseille, and the player selection of Suárez and Mbemba has created mixed reactions in the community. Let's look into why there are mixed reactions and whether or not you should Complete or Yeet this new Dynamic Duos Squad Building Challenge.
One of the big benefits of the Dynamic Duo SBC format is although it's beneficial to complete both segments to obtain both players and have a good option for squad building links, if you only want to use one of the players, you only have to complete that respective segment.
Dynamic Duo Mbemba SBC Segment
The SBC is split into two segments. For completing the first segment, you receive the Dynamic Duo Mbemba card. The requirements are:
- Ligue 1 Uber Eats Players: Minimum 1 in your starting 11.
- 86 and Higher Overall Players: Minimum 1 in your starting 11.
- 85 and Higher Overall Players: Minimum 1 in your starting 11.
- Team Overall Rating: Minimum 84
So, you do not need to worry about chemistry in this SBC, which is a huge positive. It makes it much easier to use duplicate untradable players as you can just throw in anyone without worrying about links. It is expected to cost roughly 26,000 coins to complete.
Outside of Marquinhos and Kimpeme, there aren't many Ligue 1 CB options, which is why I'd lean towards completing the Mbemba SBC, especially for how cheap it is. His base pace, defending and physical stats are all good. His dribbling for a CB is strong, especially at this point in the game. The only real worry is that his vision is 45, but even on that point, he has 75 short passing and 74 long passing. All of this combined with him having the lengthy AcceleRATE without requiring a chemistry style will make him play great in-game.
The only glaring downside seems to be the nationality link potential, as he is from DR Congo. However, if someone like Silas, Bakambu, or Wissa picks up a promo card, you all of a sudden have a great link option.
Dynamic Duo Suárez SBC Segment
The second segment of the SBC will reward you with Luis Javier Suárez. One benefit that comes with Suárez is that he can be played both centrally and also out wide (ST, CF, CAM, and LM), which can help a tremendous amount when it comes to squad building. He is a 3-star skill move, 4-star weak foot player which some will be unhappy about, but for the current meta will fit in quite nicely. For example, I have been using IF Shomurodov who is a similar card and also 3* SM & 4* WF and has been tremendous in-game. Interestingly there are a number of good links that come from him being Colombian, for example, Cordoba, Diaz, Cuadrado, and Muriel.
The requirements are:
- Ligue 1 Uber Eats Players: Minimum 1 in your starting 11.
- 85 and Higher Overall Players: Minimum 1 in your starting 11.
- Team Overall Rating: Minimum 84
Once again no chemistry being required makes this SBC really easy to complete and only costs 21,000 coins. As there is a big focus on AcceleRATE at the moment, it's worth noting that he is naturally Controlled but can become the favoured Lengthy when the Architect chemistry style is applied. It would be recommended to use another chemistry style though and focus on boosting the shooting stats with something like a Hunter or Finisher.
Complete or Yeet?
This one will completely come down to the team you have and how you plan on progressing. If you have a Ligue 1 team or a hybrid that includes Ligue 1, I think for the sake of just over 40,000 coins then this is an SBC you should definitely complete. You get two very usable players that should remain in the power curve for at least a few weeks, and it means when Icon Swaps comes around, you will have some great first-owner players to complete the objectives. If you already have a high meta team, then consider Yeeting this Dynamic Duo SBC and wait for the next one to come around.
Who do you think EA will feature next as the Dynamic Duos?
