It's that time of year again! When people type furiously about a writers lack of "ball knowledge" as they predict EA's completely accurate player ratings for the next iteration of their football game.
This year we shall be predicting the ratings of the top 11 players plus a few extra from the biggest clubs in Europe, and Tottenham. The first 5 will be the league winners of the top 5 leagues in Europe, we might find time to do PSG too.
And what better place to start than the treble winning titans of Manchester City, the all conquering team who used all of their 115 different attributes to pummel their oppenents into submission.
Manchester City EA Sports FC 24 Predicted Ratings
Kevin De Bruyne
91 Overall Rating in EA Sports FC 24 — no change.
For me he is still comfortably the best midfielder in the world. Despite a season with more rests than normal, there isn't a team in the world he doesn't get in to and so stays as the equal top rated player.
Erling Haaland
91 Overall Rating in EA Sports FC 24 — +3 upgrade.
As the cover star of EAFC, he has to be the highest rated player in the game. And he has fully deserved it. What was that about not being able to do it in the premier league?
Ederson
89 Overall Rating in EA Sports FC 24 — No change.
Despite Alisson having one of the best statistical seasons a goalkeeper has ever had, Ederson is still right there with him as best in the league.
Ruben Dias
89 Overall Rating in EA Sports FC 24 — +1 upgrade.
Has to now be rated as the best or equal best centre back in the league. Behemoth of a player who survived Pep's tactically titilation when others didn't.
Rodri
89 Overall Rating in EA Sports FC 24 — +2 upgrade.
The best CDM in the world. Simple.
Bernardo Silva
88 Overall Rating in EA Sports FC 24 — no change.
He's clearly incredible. But I don't know if this was his best year, in spite of the treble.
Phil Foden
86 Overall Rating in EA Sports FC 24 — +1 upgrade.
Improving every year but still not a nailed on starter. Could easily be 88 rated if he was.
Aymeric Laporte
85 Overall Rating in EA Sports FC 24 — -1 downgrade.
What a weird year to be Eric. Treble winner but lost your place to a Bournemouth player brought in for rotation and a marauding John Stones. Could see him lining up for someone else come September 1.
Jack Grealish
85 Overall Rating in EA Sports FC 24 — +1 upgrade.
Finally we got to see the Grealish that was promised. Whilst his goals and assists weren't incredible, Cancelo leaving freed up the space to let him thrive and he terrorised defences all year. 5 star skill EA?
Kyle Walker
84 Overall Rating in EA Sports FC 24 — -1 downgrade.
This feels a bit dirty. He is still one of the elite right backs in the premier league. But he just doesn't suit Pep's new style. I am also anticipated the beginning of EA chopping off a leg and giving him 85 pace.
John Stones
84 Overall Rating in EA Sports FC 24 — +1 upgrade.
I genuinely wouldn't be surprised to see this be 85 either. Alternative position CDM incoming. What a year for the Barnsley lad. I did tell Roy Hodgson to play him at DM, he didn't, Pep did, I'm practically a savant.
Mateo Kovacic
84 Overall Rating in EA Sports FC 24 — No Change
Escaping the Chelsea maelstrom is the only reason he protects his rating. Can't wait for Pep to turn him into the best box to box midfielder in the world...
Manuel Akanji
83 Overall Rating in EA Sports FC 24 — +3 upgrade.
This could be the elite starting CB next year alongside the next player. He was good at Dortmund, but he's gone to another level at City who are absolutely stacked defensively now. Helps when you no longer need wing backs...
Nathan Ake
82 Overall Rating in EA Sports FC 24 — +4 upgrade.
Another Chelsea youth product who would improve their team immensely. Breakout season for Ake as a top level defender and another that could be hideously good early game.
Julian Alvarez
81 Overall Rating in EA Sports FC 24 — +3 upgrade.
If Haaland gets injured, I have no doubts this kid will come in a bag a hatful. Would start for every other team in the league apart from Spurs and maybe Liverpool.
Rico Lewis
73 Overall Rating in EA Sports FC 24 — not in FUT in FIFA 23.
Pep's favourite son didn't have a card in FIFA 23. I can imagine a very solid silver as his entry point but if he kicks on, this kid could be very special.

This City team could look a lot different come September, with Gvardiol seeming inevitable (83 rated) and many departures rumoured. If Haaland is not the equal highest rated player on the game, I will be very, very surprised. It's difficult to argue he isn't the best striker in the world right now.
