Last week we had Neymar as the key player featured in Team of the Week that people were hoping to get from rewards, and there's another PSG player this week, Mbappé. While everyone will be hoping to see Mbappé in their FUT Champs player picks so they have their ST sorted for the upcoming months, there are a number of other notable players in Team of the Week 6. It's also worth noting that there is a player featured in TOTW 6 that has a Ones to Watch card, so if have OTW de Ligt in your club, he will be receiving an upgrade to an 86.
FIFA 23 Team of the Week 6 - Grind FUT Champs for Mbappé
One of the big questions that looms over a lot of the FIFA community every Wednesday when a TOTW is released, is if it's worth playing FUT Champs that weekend. In most cases, this is people deciding how much time they want to dedicate to FUT Champs that weekend in an attempt to pack a certain TOTW player. In this case, as there's Mbappé in there, you can expect the majority of players to be taking the upcoming FUT Champs Finals a bit more seriously as they'll want as many opportunities as possible to pack him.
Outside of Mbappé, there are actually a number of other notable players featured in the FIFA 23 Team of the Week 6.
Casemiro - Yes, if you're playing on the old-generation gameplay, this Casemiro will likely be fodder for you. However, for next-generation players, this is an incredible option as he's Lengthy without a chemistry style being applied, and has the ideal work rates with insane defending and physical stats for this point in the game cycle.
Dembélé - Another French player that people will be hoping to pack is Dembélé. The +2 upgrade is a nice boost to an already favorable player, thanks to his base pace and 5* 5* combo. Although Explosive players can struggle in some scenarios on next-generation, this would be a great pickup regardless if you manage to pack him.
Martinez - Now, he's certainly a love-hate player in FIFA, but Martinez brings yet another fantastic Serie A striker option in FIFA 23. Team of the Week alone has brought some brilliant Serie A STs; Shomurodov, Immobile, Muriel, and now Martinez. He's got the Controlled Accelerate regardless of what chemistry style is applied, so throw a Hunter on him and enjoy.
Bellingham - Jude Bellingham is the last player from TOTW 6 in FIFA 23 that is worth highlighting. He is going to be one of the more reasonably priced options, already coming in at just over 100,000 coins after being in packs for 30 minutes, but he has some great link options both from Dortmund and then with being English in the Bundesliga. Overall, is a very well-rounded midfielder for your team.
Is it worth completing Rulebreakers Rodriguez? (Silver Stars)
Ah, seeing the Silver Star player being themed to the current promotion is amazing and I really hope EA can consistently do this as it often vastly improves the overall value of the Silver Stars' objective players. In this case, Jay Rodriguez, who is Lengthy, has his Dribbling reduced by 3 but receives the following boosts: +11 pace, +8 shooting, +6 passing, +8 defending, and +10 physicals which makes him an incredibly usable Silver option. He comes with 3-star skills and a 4-star weak foot, which is by no means perfect, but is the minimum people should be aiming for in FIFA 23.
So although he has received a solid boost and is themed to the current promotion, why is the community reacting negatively? Well, it will be because everything is well and good if you're a next-generation player as you will be able to use the Lengthy AcceleRATE style to overcome the low pace (76) and you can kind of deal with the heavy dribbling, keeping Silver Star. However, if you're on old-generation, this is going to be a bit of a tragic card that isn't worth the time completing.
Complete or Yeet? Yeet. This is a bit of a split decision as I've mentioned above as he can be usable in the right situation, but I think considering how many people haven't been able to make the jump to next-gen, along with him being incredibly lackluster outside of the shooting ability even if you have made that jump, the time would be better spent elsewhere on the game. Let us know if you will be completing the Rulebreakers Rodriguez Silver Star objective.
