Team of the Season (TOTS) is an annual event in FIFA Ultimate Team that celebrates the best-performing players from leagues around the world that takes place towards the end of the current season. During the event, EA Sports releases special TOTS Items into packs for selected players, chosen by their own discretion and community votes, all of which have boosted stats compared to their regular Items.
TOTS typically runs for several weeks and features a series of Squad Building Challenges (SBCs) and Objectives, as well as special packs and lightning rounds in the FUT Store.
TOTS Items are usually released in batches based on different leagues, with the most prestigious leagues such as the Premier League and LaLiga receiving their own separate releases, finishing with the ‘Ultimate TOTS’, where the highest-rated or most popular TOTS Items gathered from a mixture of the featured leagues are re-released together as a final celebration of the season.
What can we expect from TOTS in FIFA 23?
Team of the Season partly kicked off this year on April 21st with a TOTS Warm Up event, where special upgrade SBCs and Objectives were released in order for players to build up packs for the main event, which begins on Friday, April 28th. No TOTS Items will be available over the course of the week, so we recommend saving the packs you earn for the time being.
When the full TOTS event begins, Special Items will be released into packs each Friday, starting with the Community TOTS squad, which features players who performed consistently well across the season who didn’t receive a Special Item over the course of the season, which will then be replaced by players from the next featured league the next Friday.
There will also be SBCs and Objectives released over the course of each week that will reward those who complete them with Special Items for players exclusively available in that SBC or Objective.
We will then get Special Items for players from major and minor leagues every Friday over the course of the next few weeks, culminating with the Ultimate TOTS to round off the promo. The release schedule for each major league can be seen below.

FUT Champions Rewards
During TOTS, FUT Champions rewards, which usually rewards participating players with Player Picks and packs that feature TOTW players, will feature Player Picks and packs that will include players from that week’s featured TOTS squad, including both TOTS Items and TOTS Moments Items. In addition, the TOTS Items will have a special red design, instead of the traditional blue design.
To make sure players are earning the latest TOTS rewards available in packs, EA will delay the start of the FUT Champions Final event until 8pm BST on Fridays, and extend the event by 48 hours, finishing at 8am BST, Wednesday morning.
Those who finish Rank 6 and above will be rewarded with at least 1 TOTS Player Pick with no overall rating cap, with those finishing in at least Rank 5 guaranteed to have players from that week's major league TOTS squad.
Those who finish in Rank 7 and below will have their Player Picks capped at a maximum overall rating of 90.
