Hey Guys and welcome back to another Team of the Week prediction!
International break is over (for now) and with club football being back the past weekend we have seen some rotations in the squads but the teams still delivered good! One thing to keep in mind for this week is that another promo is coming on friday which will most likely affect the Team of the Week selection on Wednesday and also previous promos might affect it as players like Griezmann most likely won't pick up an inform after he scored a hat-trick because he was in the Trailblazer promo but we'll see how that turns out. Other than that we should have an interesting side on Wednesday with some really good players in it so go on and take a look who could potentially be in!
TOTW6 Predicted Starting XI
GK: Stole Dimitrievski (Rayo Vallecano) - 79 OVR -> 82 OVR:
Goalkeepers have been very rare this week so I'm more than happy that Dimitrievski stood out. Rayo Vallecano recorded a narrow 1-0 victory away from home against Las Palmas and Dimitrievski had work to do, ending the game with a total of 6 saves, including a penalty save after half an hour into the first half of the game.
RWB: Jeremie Frimpong (Leverkusen) - 83 OVR -> 85 OVR:
Bayer Leverkusen returned to the top of the Bundesliga table as they defeated Wolfsburg 2-1 away from home on Saturday afternoon in a close game. Match-winner was the dutch wingback Jeremy Frimpong who scored the opening goal and also assisted his side's second for Grimaldo.
CB: Bremer (Juventus) - 84 OVR -> 86 OVR:
Juventus have secured a huge victory against a strong AC Milan side at the San Siro in a result has blown open the early Serie A title race. The victory for the Old Lady means they are now just a point behind AC Milan in the table and two behind Inter Milan, who now top the table following their 3-0 win away at Torino on Saturday. Aside from an early scare that saw him lose the ball rather cheaply, it was a commanding display at the back from the Brazilian who won almost every duel on the ground and in the air, while also covering on Gatti whenever required. Had Giroud in his pocket all game and Allegri said it was probably his best game at Juventus.
CB: Lutsharel Geertruida (Feyenoord) - 79 OVR -> 82 OVR:
Feyenoord, taking on Lazio in the Champions League in midweek, comfortably defeated Vitesse Arnhem 4-0 on Saturday evening showed they were in good form heading into the tie. Geertruida was one of the goalscorers for Feyenoord. The fullback, who played as a central defender that game, scored the third when he headed in shortly into the second half and his inform would be really decent.
CDM: Leon Goretzka (Bayern) - 85 OVR -> 86 OVR:
Bayern Munich’s unbeaten start to the Bundesliga season continued, but they were made to work hard for a win on the road at Mainz on Saturday evening when they went home with a 3-1 victory. So many contenders for the award with Coman, Leroy Sane, Joshua Kimmich and Kane excelling in the forward areas, but Goretzka produced an outstanding contribution in living up to his reputation as one of the world game's most willing and tireless operators in midfield. Scored a fine third goal for Bayern at a venue where they have struggled recently to round off an energetic performance before he was forced off with a hand injury on 75 minutes.
CM: Luis Alberto (Latium) - 85 OVR -> 86 OVR:
Serie A was back this weekend after the international break and the first day of action was rounded of by Sassuolo vs Lazio in Emilia Romagna where Lazio picked up all three points in a 2-0 victory. Luis Alberto was the star of the show. He was involved in every attempt to destabilize a shaky Sassuolo defence and he was successful on two occasions. Put pressure on Ruan Tressoldi to win the ball for the first goal and was one cool customer to finish off the second as he dinked it over Andrea Consigli whih was his 50th goal for Lazio.
CM: Aleix Garcia (Girona) - 80 OVR -> 83 OVR:
One of the most entertaining games was played in the La Liga between Girona and Almeria on the weekend where Girona came back from being down 0-2 to pick up all three points with a 5-2 victory. One of the decisive players was Spanish midfielder Aleix Garcia who was injured for a while at the end last season but now is back at his best and probably one of the most underrated midfielders in the league. Garcia pulled the strings from a deeper midfield role and assisted two of the 5 goals to help Girona with the turnaround.
RW: Matteo Politano (Napoli) - 81 OVR -> 84 OVR:
In the absence of their main talisman Victor Osimhen, Napoli traveled north to take on Verona at the Marcantonio Bentegodi Stadium and went home with three points in the bag, picking up a 3-1 victory. It was an afternoon to remember for the winger who was involved in all three Napoli goals. Kept his composure to score the opener with a volley. He then served Kvaratskhelia with a couple of assists, including a fabulous long ball.
ST: Lois Openda (Leipzig) - 82 OVR -> 84 OVR:
RBL made to work hard in Darmstadt as they recorded a hard-fought 3-1 win away from home. Belgium forward Openda was the Man of the Match after he bagged a brace in a game where Spanish midfielder Olmo also made his comeback after injury.
ST: Mauro Icardi (Galatasaray) - 80 OVR -> 83 OVR:
Galatasaray picked up all three points in a narrow 2-1 win against Besiktas on the weekend before their midweek clash against Bayern in the Champions League, one of the biggest games in the Turkish top-flight. Argentinian forward Mauro Icardi continued his insane run of scoring and bagged a brace to secure all three points in this prestigious game.
ST: Nikita Parris (Man Utd.) - 81 OVR -> 84 OVR:
Having suffered elimination from the Women's Champions League, lost summer signing Gabby George to an ACL injury and watched a sickness bug leave a trio of key players unavailable for Sunday's trip to Everton, it had been a difficult week for Marc Skinner's Manchester United team so the 5-0 win the Red Devils picked up on Merseyside, then, will have brought them relief as well as delight. After being denied by an outstanding Brosnan save in the first half, she was clinical to head home before the hour. Some nice touches to create a few chances, too, putting the ball on a plate for Williams to make it three. Rounded off the scoring with a lovely finish.
TOTW6 Predicted Subs & Reserves
RB: Carlos Soler (PSG) - 79 OVR -> 82 OVR:
Paris Saint-Germain cruised to a 3-0 win over a Strasbourg at the Parc des Princes on their return to action following the International break. Mbappe once again put on a show but Carlos Soler also had a decent outing. Dodgy marking in the box at set-pieces but useful on the ball and was perfectly placed to nudge in the second goal. Unselfish and smart to pass to Ruiz to round off the scoring. Only a 7 match rating which could see him not being in.
CM: Douglas Luiz (A. Villa) - 79 OVR -> 82 OVR:
Aston Villa extended their remarkable winning run at home to 11 Premier League games after thrashing West Ham 4-1 at Villa Park. Areola denied Luiz in the 16th minute when he clawed his strike from out of the top corner, but he couldn't prevent the Brazilian later in the half. That’s now six home league games Luiz has scored in. No Villa player has had a longer scoring record at home since Dwight Yorke's run of eight in 1991.
CAM: Florian Kainz (Cologne) - 78 OVR -> 82 OVR:
The first Rhein derby of the season proved to be all about 1.FC Köln as Borussia Mönchengladbach decided not to turn up for one of their marquee games of the season. Kainz was the scorer of two penalties for Köln, he was lucky that the second penalty had to be taken after originally producing one of the worst penalties of this season, which was saved by Nicolas. Away from this, the Austrian was still crucial in their attacks and if it were not Nicolas’s goalkeeping could have ended up with a few assists.
LW: Amahl Pellegrino (Bodo/Glimt) - 75 OVR -> 81 OVR:
You might have noticed it but Amahl Pellegrino recently got ignored when he scored four goals for his side which was insanely sad to see. He once again registered four goal contributions on the weekend, this time he got all four assists in his side's 4-3 win against Sandefjord.
RW: Jacob Murphy (Newcastle) - 76 OVR -> 81 OVR:
Newcastle United walloped Crystal Palace 4-0 and can now look forward to a huge clash in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund on Wednesday night. Murphy was handed his first start of the season and it took just four minutes to find the net. Put in two great balls for Anthony Gordon in the first half with the second being converted. Faded slightly in the second half but still managed to grab another assist for Callum Wilson. Made some important defensive contributions too and picked up a 9 match rating and Man of the Match.
ST: Mame Thiam (Kayserispor) - 72 OVR -> 80 OVR:
There have not been a lot of hat-tricks this week from silver players which makes the selection a bit easier on paper but knowing EA some still could get snubbed. Thiam scored all three goals in Kayserispor's 3-1 victory over Rizespor and should be in this week.
ST: Vangelis Pavlidis (Alkmaar) - 78 OVR -> 82 OVR:
AZ Alkmaar comfortably defeated Heerenveenat home, recording a 3-0 victory. Pavlidis went into the game in excellent form as he has scored in all eight Eredivisie games so far this campaign and continued his good run of form, finishing the game with a hat-trick to his name.
