Hello and welcome to my prediction for Team of the Week 19!
Team of the Year is in full swing so we are all desperate to pack these beautiful blue cards instead of Team of the Weeks but there are still some cool looking cards which could come this week! It was a weekend full of hat-tricks which made a bit harder to predict the team but most of them should make it into the side this week! We also won't see a lot of Premier League players with only five games have been played but instead Bundesliga could make the biggest impact this week. Go on and check out who could be in the side this week!
TOTW 19 Predicted Starting XI
GK: Giorgi Mamardashvili (Valencia) - 80 OVR -> 85 OVR:
It was one of these weeks again where there have been close to zero goalkeepers with really outstanding performances which makes it hard to chose and left me with including Valencia's shot-stopper Mamardashvili who made a total of 4 saves in Valencia's 1-0 victory against Bilbao.
CB: Gabriel (Arsenal) - 84 OVR -> 86 OVR:
Arsenal returned to winning ways on Saturday afternoon as they cruised to a 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League. Gabriel showed his quality from set pieces yet again. Capped an excellent display with two fine headers, even if the second did eventually go down as an own goal but picked up Man of the Match.
RWB: Mitchell Weiser (Bremen) - 77 OVR -> 86* OVR:
Harry Kane moved to Bayern Munich to win trophies – but that dream is in jeopardy, at least in his first season, after the champions slipped seven points off the Bundesliga summit with a 1-0 defeat at home to Werder Bremen. Mitchell Weiser scored the game-winning goal and secured all three points for his side which alsow as Bremen's first victory away at Bayern since 2008.
LWB: Grimaldo (Leverkusen) - 87 OVR -> 88 OVR:
After grinding out a win against Augsburg last weekend, Bayer Leverkusen looked to maintain their lead at the top of the table with a tough game away at RB Leipzig and the game was as hard as expected but Leverkusen once again completed a comeback, picking up all three points when Hincapie scored deep into injury-time. Grimaldo, probably the best fullback so far this season, once again showed his excellent set-piece ability and assisted two if the three goals with one of them being the winning goal.
CDM: Lorenzo Pellegrini (Roma) - 83 OVR -> 86 OVR:
After sacking Jose Mourinho midweek, AS Roma were looking to bounce back from their defeat last matchday under new head coach De Rossi and they did as they beat Hellas Verona with 2-1. Roma captain Lorenzo Pellegrini scored one of the two goals and although Shaarawy got two assists the Italian midfielder picked up MOTM.
CAM: Lauren James (Chelsea Women) - 86 OVR -> 87 OVR:
It was an afternoon of contrasts for Chelsea as they hosted Manchester United in the Women's Super League on Sunday. At times, this was Emma Hayes' side at their free-flowing best as they extended their lead at the top of the table to three clear points. Lauren James is basically unplayable at Stamford Bridge. This hat-trick means she's now scored more than any other Chelsea player, men's or women's, at the club's spiritual home this season. Created plenty too.
RW: Donyell Malen (Dortmund) - 82 OVR -> 85 OVR:
Borussia Dortmund's individual quality proved to be too much for FC Köln in the end, as Edin Terzic's side claimed a 4-0 win. The win was anything was straightforward, as the Billy Goats created a host of good chances over the course of the 90 minutes. Malen was the star of the show for Borussia Dortmund, scoring from both of his shots and leading his side to a key win. The Dutchman is very difficult to stop when he is on his game and playing with confidence, and that proved to be the case again against FC Köln.
LW: Ferrán Torres (Barcelona) - 82 OVR -> 87* OVR:
After a nail-biting encounter, FC Barcelona managed to overcome Real Betis. The Catalan giants managed a convincing 4-2 victory over their rivals from Andalusia despite being away from home. Barcelona, despite the uncertainties during the game, kept their fighting spirit alive. What words can even describe the performance given by Ferran Torres. Absolutely astonishing stuff from the Spanish forward against Real Betis. With a hattrick of surreal goals and a crucial assist as well, four goal contributions warrant Torres a near-perfect rating.
ST: Wilfried Zaha (Galatasaray) - 85 OVR -> 86 OVR:
Galatasaray recorded their second consecutive victory and moved to the top of the table, level on points with Fenerbahce, after beating Trabzonspor 5-1 away from home. Ivory Coast forward Wilfried Zaha once again showed his scoring ability as the attacker scored twice and also registered an assist.
ST: Artem Dovbyk (Girona) - 86 OVR -> 87 OVR:
Girona temporarily remains top of the La Liga table after they recorded another convincing victory, this time beating Sevilla with 5-1. It was once again Girona's star forward Dovbyk who stole the show as the 26-years old scored a hat-trick within the first 20 minutes of the game. The 26-year-old forward's treble takes his goal tally in La Liga to 14, putting him level with Real Madrid sensation Jude Bellingham at the top of the scorer chart. The Ukraine international also has five assists to his name, one fewer than Toni Kroos and Villarreal's Alex Baena.
ST: Diogo Jota (Liverpool) - 85 OVR -> 86 OVR:
A depleted Liverpool side deservedly battled out a 4-0 victory away to Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon. Jota was wreaking havoc as Liverpool's false nine, lurking in the corridors of uncertainty between Bournemouth's backline, ending the game with two goals and an assist to his name.
TOTW 19 Predicted Subs & Reserves
LM: Vincenzo Grifo (Freiburg) - 82 OVR -> 85 OVR:
German side Freiburg went back to winning ways after two winnless games, beating Hoffenheim with 3-2 at home on Saturday afternoon. Freiburg's captain Grifo once again proved to be the difference maker as he scored one and assisted another and was named Player of the Week.
ST: Gennaro Tutino (Cosenza) - 68 OVR -> 83 OVR:
Cosenza recorded an important victory in their battle against relegation in the Serie B, beating Venezia with 4-2 thanks to three goals from Tutino who could pick up the inform for is performance.
ST: Martin Braithwaite (Espanyol) - 77 OVR -> 83 OVR:
After four consecutive draws in the second Spanish divison, Espanyol went back to winning ways and continues their promotion chase back to the top-flight, beating Villareal B with 2-1 thanks to two goals from Martin Braithwaite.
LW: Paulinho (Sporting CP) - 77 OVR -> 83 OVR:
Sporting CP reamins top of the league with one point clear of Benfica after beating Vizela with 5-2. Gyökeres once again was named Man of the Match but with him recently being in TOTW I'm instead picking Paulinho who scored one and assisted another two.
RM: Morris Schröter (1860 München) - 66 OVR -> 83 OVR:
The Lions went five competitive games in a row without scoring, they then scored four in a 4:1 win over MSV Duisburg. Morris Schröter was Man of the Match after he scored twice and also assisted another two.
CM: Szymon Zurkowski (Empoli) - 74 OVR -> 83 OVR:
This is a bit of a punt as Zurkowski has no Empoli card in the game yet but it's hard to ignore him after the Polish midfielder scored all three goals in Empoli's 3-0 win against Monza.
LB: Wendell (Porto) - 76 OVR -> 83 OVR:
The second player we could see from the Portuguese top-flight is Brazilian fullback Wendell who scored twice in Porto's 5-o trashing against Moreirense.
