We have the latest game mode coming in the newest edition, EA Sports FC 25 brings to us a 5-versus-5 game mode to play with friends. Here is everything we know about the new, fast paced game mode coming to FC 25:
What is Rush?
Rush is the latest game mode added to EA Sports FC 25. It is a social focused game mode designed to be played with FOUR people and an AI Goalkeeper to get a 5-versus-5 experience with all FC 25 game mechanics.
Teams can be made up of you and three friends, alternatively you can use drop in lobbies as seen in previous Pro Clubs modes.
Each player in real life will control one player in game, making it a fully manual FC 25 experience.
Can you play Rush in Ultimate Team?
Yes, you can play Rush in Ultimate Team. Playing it in Ultimate Team will allow you to draft players specifically within Ultimate Team and play the 5v5 game mode with friends.
You will also be able to earn rewards within Ultimate Team via the Rush game mode.
To play Rush in Ultimate Team you will first need to select a live Rush Event. Each event will have entry requirements that restrict the player pool for Squad Selection based on rarity, attributes, countries, regions, leagues and clubs.
Different Events might provide faster progression to the weekly Rush Objectives but they will all contribute to the same set of Rush Weekly Objectives.
How is Rush Gameplay different?
Rush gameplay is different to standard gameplay in many ways such as:
- Rush is played in “Events” which will decide the pool of players you can draft from
- You will benefit from a Rush Points rewards Multiplier if your squad meets certain squad building criteria
- The pitch size is reduced to 65% of the standard pitch length to make the 5v5 experience more enjoyable
- There are no fixed or even suggested positions for players on the pitch allowing you and your friends to set up how you see fit
- Captains can control Goalkeepers with standard Manual GK Movement
- New rules introduced such as “Blue Cards” or Sin Bins for player discipline
- Offside only applies in the final third of the pitch
- Race to the ball instead of standard kickoff
- Penalties played from the Halfway Line 1v1 against the GK
Bear in mind Rush does have all the core gameplay mechanics, the goal is of the standard size and is played in the standard FC 25 game engine.
How many people can play Rush?
Rush is a 5v5 game mode that is played with FOUR players on each team and one AI controlled goalkeeper.
Each player can only be controlled by one human player, each team will be made up of four players so a total of EIGHT players can play against each other in one game of Rush.
You can also play with four players against an AI opponent in Kick Off modes.
Will we get rewards from Rush in Ultimate Team?
Yes, we will get rewards from Rush in Ultimate Team. Each game of Rush allows you to earn Rush Points which contribute towards the Weekly Rush Objectives.
Each week a Rush Objective group will be available in Ultimate Team that gives rewards based on the Rush Points earned that week.
Aside from the guaranteed Rush Objectives each week we may also get other objectives related to Rush that give us more rewards in FUT 25.
What players can you use in Rush Ultimate Team?
In any Rush game mode, you select players collaboratively with your teammates, trying to complete block requirements and get the most out of each game you play.
You enter the Squad Building phase after finding teammates. The available player pool is pre-filtered based on the Rush Event you selected and you can only choose a player from this pool. These players are from your individual FUT clubs.
You have 90 seconds to select your teams, each player can only control one on the pitch and duplicate players are not allowed, even other versions.
