With FIFA 23 coming to an end we will be witnessing a historic change in the EA Sports FIFA franchise.
With the FIFA federation and the EA corporation parting ways there is an end to what will be remembered as the greatest collaboration to create the biggest sporting video game series that we have ever seen.
A series that has shaped childhoods, created a strong and loyal fanbase that spans across the globe and memories that are cherished to this day.
With iconic music, legendary moments and hours upon hours of mesmerising gameplay behind us we are about to witness a new era of football gaming as the next edition of our favourite football video game will be created as EA Sports FC.
Here we break down everything we know about the latest title, what we can expect from EA Sports FC and more down below.
When will EA Sports FC 24 be released?
EA Sports FC 24 is expected to follow the typical release window of late September to early October, considering the ongoing FIFA 23 cycle.
Fans can anticipate the new game to be launched within this timeframe, continuing the tradition of previous FIFA titles.
Rumoured dates for the Pre-order release is September 22nd and Full Release is September 29th.
When will FIFA 24 be released?
Based on FIFA President Gianni Infantino's press release and the absence of any announcement regarding a new development partner, it appears that there won't be a FIFA 24 title released.
However, there are hints of a FIFA 25 in the future, as mentioned by the FIFA President, although specific details are currently unavailable.
Why will the game be called EA Sports FC 24 rather than FIFA 24?
Following the conclusion of FIFA and EA's long-standing partnership, Electronic Arts no longer possesses the rights to the FIFA name.
To continue creating the greatest football video game we've come to cherish, EA will release it under their own title as EA Sports FC 24, departing from the familiar FIFA branding.
What licences will EA Sports FC 24 have?
EA Sports has already managed to retain individual league and club licences outside of the FIFA mandates.
While they may no longer be able to make a dedicated World Cup mode there are plenty of other leagues and federations that have made deals with EA.
With EA’s official statement being that the game will be "built on a foundation of inclusivity and innovation, fans will experience unrivalled authenticity with access to more than 19,000 fully licensed players, 700 teams, and 30 leagues, with the support of over 300 global football partners that will allow further expansion into areas including both women’s and grassroots football."
This indicates that we should be seeing a lot of familiar competitions in EA FC 24.

Will EA Sports FC have Ultimate Team?
Ultimate Team remains FIFA's most popular mode, offering complex and engaging gameplay for their large fanbase.
EA Sports FC will undoubtedly feature Ultimate Team, allowing players to build their ultimate collection of cards and play with people online.
How will losing the FIFA licence impact EA Sports FC 24?
The loss of the FIFA License should not be taken lightly as it is a major loss for EA Sports FC 24.
The game will not feature tournaments and content from official FIFA tournaments.
International competitions and in game content will be restricted to the league and federation licences that EA Sports FC 24 will procure.
It’s not all doom and gloom with this as EA Sports FC 24 will still maintain the rights to all players registered with FIFPro.
It is a separate licence which will allow them to use player likenesses as mentioned in their statement before.
What game modes will EA Sports FC 24 have?
With the loss of the FIFA licence also comes some creative freedom.
While EA Sports FC hasn’t had any announcements about new game modes and ideas there will be some exciting new things to look out for in the new game.
There are rumoured changes being suggested to existing game modes which shall be featured such as:
- Career Mode
- Ultimate Team
- VOLTA

With these being the backbone of the FIFA experience there is still a chance of more game modes might be created and cross game mode progression might make it’s way to EA Sports FC 24.
